HOPE

So I was watching a series that a friend of mine suggested called 'The Sandman'. It's a very thought provoking series I'd definitely suggest it to anyone bored out of their minds and have nothimg to watch. Here's a bit of context. The Sandman is the God of dreams in his own realm and I don't need to tell you what comes with being a GOD.

Anywho in this particular episode that inspired this chat. Sandman had a squabble with Lucifer. Long story short Sandman wanted his belongings that was taken by a dweller in Lucifer's realm. Sandman was then challenged into a Pokémon  battle fight of some sorts in order to get his belongings.

Now what was interesting was that they had to conjure synonyms of themselves. These synonym are either the worse things humans cannot overcome or the best things humans use to overcome those worse times/things. Lucifer being a representative of darkness will obviously conjure everything dark. The Sandman representing our hopes and dreams will counter attached with something positive. Now what sealed Sandman's victory was that he conjured Hope as a defence and that defeated Lucifer. Simply because she(Lucifer) couldn't think of anything dark that could defeat Hope. Obviously in this context it was used as a positive in that when humans are all down and out and bound in "hell" Hope is what keeps them alive.

But here's where my chats and I come in. I get hope being a symbol of positivity and all. It being the thing that keeps human alive in their most darkest of times. It being the thing that creates ideas that could conjure a torch in a dark room.
But I'd like to discuas how that torch can be an illusion. I'd like to point out the double entendre that exist within the concept of hope that people maybe aren't aware of.

Faith is another form of darkness
We know that darkness is ever vacant and gloomy
The vacant space can only be filled with dreams, expectations, hope and desire
But even those radiant fitments can't fully furnish the dark into light
Even the whispers of tormenting visions can't conjure blaze
To hope is to continuously mourn every self that desires along with the vision
Selves that hope for things
Things darkness won't shine a light for so we can make our way out out it
We mourn the selves who's hopes stay forever in our imagination and never see the light of day
To hope is like digging an endless grave
It's like a new baby seeing light for the first time only to die minutes after the satisfying exposure.
It's like reaching your hand in a dark room to the unknown waiting to be pulled into the light
