Phoenix
I see flames
I feel rage
I smell smoke and I hear cracking
An emergence of some sort that needs not to be met with urgency
We've been taught that burning is a sign of danger, so automatically we avoid.
We're taught that the moment heat is sensed, it'll result in a wound.
We avoid anything that would lead us to the fire.
We avoid everything that resembles smoke.
We avoid all things flammable, ignitable, and full of fuel.
We've avoided fire, being in the fire, seeing fire, and inevitably walking into it. But that fuel can be used to fuel a new version of us.
But we need that heat, without it there are no diamond. That fire can ignite a version that we avoided facing. That flame seeks to destroy all that stands in the way of meeting you. Let that fire kindle a version of you that isn’t afraid to stand in the flames. That cracking sound is merely a sigh from the version of you that doesn’t want to die silent.
It seeks to keep you afraid and looking back while never letting go. The fire we were never taught not to fear is the fire within us.
You are not immune from combusting, so cross your legs, walk straight into the fire, and remain in the midst of it all. Remain there till the old version stops lingering.
Bid farewell to her and be compassionate toward her, but she overstayed her visit. Thankful as we may be, her time is up.
Letting go is never easy, and the longer the both of you keep holding on, the longer you’ll stay in the flames.
You’re never meant to inhale the smoke.
You were simply set out to invite yourself to the fire and let the old that can no longer serve you turn into ash, and wait for the phoenix to arise.
